The Artistic Village of Theater of the Seventh Sister will present by this dance concert by the Grant Street Dance Company.
Many of the dances in "Foot Prints: A Modern Dance Concert" take inspiration from every day events and experiences and are designed to entertain, inspire and amuse. The audience will explore a wide range of emotions as they watch the dancers find balance in an unstable world, become a wallflower, improvise creative movement or reflect their feelings of love, friendship and spirituality.
Now in its twelfth season, the Grant Street Dance Company continues to inspire audiences with its unconventional and all-encompassing approach to modern dance performance. Over twenty dancers of various ages and movement backgrounds work together, each contributing their unique talents and styles to the company.
Choreographers Jan Pranckun-Bewley, Lynn Brooks, Tracey Davis and Kim Jureckson have created several new pieces including a trio and a solo for this concert. Several guest dancers and choreographers, including Kinetics Dance Theatre from Maryland and soloist Valerie Henry of Dance Mosaic in Lancaster, will add their unique movement styles and original choreography to the performance.
"Just Say No", a student improvisational dance company from Franklin and Marshall College, will add an element of surprise and spontaneity.
For a sneak preview of "Foot Prints: A Modern Dance Concert," please drop by the Stahr Performing Arts Center on First Friday, November 6th, from 6:00-8:00 PM to see the dancers and stage crew during a working technical rehearsal.
