well worth attending

This place is really great! The facility is gorgeous inside! When we went to an event a few weeks ago, we were expecting something awful but were pleasantly surprised to see a breathtaking room where everything went off without a hitch. The food was hot on hot plates and it was really, really good! The meal was served quickly and I was impressed that the servers knew what they were doing when it came to ettiquette. We are glad that we got to experience the "new" Wisehaven!

New manager on duty!!!

Hello! My name is Louise Soskin and I have stepped in as manager of Wisehaven Banquet & Expo Center as of February 24th. I am not the manager who wrote the explanation below. I had been at Wisehaven from 2001- November of 2009 and during that time events were successful. I cannot answer or explain what has happened in the last year and a half in my absence, but I can say that I am working hard to bring back the excellent reputation that Wisehaven had in the past. My office hours are Monday through Friday 8-4. If you leave a message or send me an email now, you will receive a prompt response. You will hear my voice on the answering machine. If I can answer any questions or help past or present clients, please let me know.

Are you closed?

I have a wedding scheduled at Wisehaven this summer. We have been attempting to contact them for about two weeks now with no response. The last straw was this morning when we called to leave another message and the voicemail box is actually full! In talking with the owner of the tennis club next door, no one has been around the banquet hall in weeks. People have been calling/stopping in the tennis club looking for any one to talk to. The tennis club owner even said that she thought the gas and electric companies were there and disconnected the services.

The comment below is only one month old. So I would love to know what is going on. Will I have a reception hall this summer? Will I ever get my deposit back? And, please show me this "well educated" staff who have been MIA for over two weeks.

I am just looking for answers at this point in case I need to be looking for another venue. Please e-mail chaldo_32@hotmail.com if you happen to have any information. Thanks!

The real truth about Wisehaven Banquet and Expo Center

I would like to first address of the comments of the previous employees. I think you can discern from the comments below that there were, in the past, employees that did not take pride in their own personal performance. This is why they are no longer employed at Wisehaven Banquet and Expo Center. The manager and sales person have not been employed at our facility for the better part of a year. The general banquet staff employees who have comment in this forum have not been employed for at least six months to my knowledge, however I am sure they were let go well before that time frame. Wisehaven has undergone a change in management as well as currently has a staff that is professional, courteous, efficient, and very customer centric. Even during the time frames that the other people in this forum discussed, Wisehaven has an excellent relationship with those clients. Many of our clients are referrals or repeat clients which will attest to our many bookings well through 2012. Everyday a new client is contacting Wisehaven with interest in using our facility for their most special of events. The fact is that we take pride in what we do. We take pride in making sure our clients are happy and satisfied to every extent possible. We make your special event our number one priority. The fact that there are previous employees that comment about how personally poor their work performance was or one previous client addressing an office staff that has been replaced by well educated and experienced professionals does not change the fact that happy and satisfied clients walk out our door everyday.

Sucks for all these other reviewers. I worked all of there events. I was a loney dishwasher for a failing company owned buy really stupid people the only thing about wise haven good at all was the cute ass they hire to make drunks happy. The food is wasted when u don't eat it u paid for everyone else to eat idk if u new that but I had some of your leftovers I also gave u plates that weren't washed well cause well I had no supervision period I sit with the waiters u had to pay to tip I sat out side with them and made fun of you they were paid out of your pocket to do nothing sucks for you.

find another venue

I was a hostess for an event here. I still cannot believe how rude the management is there. They were not interested in making this event a success at all. First there is the manager and he is just rude. Then there is this sales lady who looked like she just rolled out of bed the two times we saw here. She went on about how her husband died or something. When we went over details with the first manager who was no longer there (smart move on her part), she wrote it all down and emailed us everything. We then meet with whatever that guys name is and he tells us there is no information on us!! Where did it go? He tried to blame it on the previous person, but we know she put it in because we had a copy! Then we are told we cannot have what we were promised. One issue after another.....dont even bother!

Biggest Mistake ever!

When my sister's wedding was held at Wisehaven Banquet and Expo Center, I was horrified at the organization and nonchalant attitudes! The Manager forgot we were coming and had such an attitude. My recommendation-Find some other place to celebrate your happy day!

Worst Customer Service Award Goes to :Wisehaven Banquet and Expo center

My sister's wedding was on Dec 5th at the Wisehaven Banquet and Expo Center in York,PA at 2985 E. Prospect Rd. Me and my family were so disgusted with the Manager: William (Bill) L. Horn, who was not only unprofessional, but rude and not concerned with any of the problems that we made him aware of. For starters , The night of the rehearsal (Bill) told my mother that he was about to leave ,because he didnt see in "the book" that there were any events that evening. ...then (Bill) continued to tell us that he was going to leave and go cash his check at Walmart so he can get a hair cut later... So, the morning of the wedding ,Bill tells my sister that she cant take her wedding pictures inside where they had decided on months ago, because another party just moved their time up by 1 hour. This upset my sister (The bride) ,being the maid of honor i decided to try to step in and work thing out with Bill. The moment i opened my mouth to contest...,Bill says "Excuse me ,....(with a shake of his head), whose wedding is this anyways,..yours or hers?" My sister and i are both manager at restaurants and could not believe the attitude that this man gave us, with his head bob'n and finger shaking! And after we confronted him about the way he spoke to us, he acted out like a child ,and played the hand of "she started it". Who hires people who have no customer service to work directly with customers ,and for large banquets. I wish that had been the only this wrong. The upstairs room where the reception was to be held smelled like mildew. The groom had to go out and buy scented candles and febreze spray the try and rid the room of "the smell of mold". When dinner was served only half the people ate their salads ,because the salad was not fresh, many people asked for another salad, because 75% of their salad was brown. We never saw Bill for the rest of the evening, but at this point we were all very happy about that.
After my sister left in her limo, we went to the office to pay and complained about Bill Horn ,and best part is :his mother works in the office, and ignored everything we had to say. No wonder this man can talk to customers as he feels ,his mother will protect his job....
I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy!
